Audio | Audio amplifiers | detail | TAS2780 |
The TAS2780 is a mono, digital input Class-D audio amplifier optimized for efficiently driving high peak power into small loudspeakers. The Class-D amplifier is capable of delivering 25 W of continuous power into a 4 Ω load with less than 1% THD+N at a supply voltage of 18 V. The broad voltage input range and the high output power makes this amplifier versatile enough to work with battery or line powered systems. The TAS2780 can be used as a conventional amp or with host-based speaker protection algorithms. The integrated speaker voltage and current sense provides for real time feedback of loudspeaker conditions to the protection algorithms through a return I2S path. Y-Bridge power architecture improves amplifier efficiency by internally selecting the supplies for optimal headroom. Brownout prevention scheme with multiple thresholds allows reducing the gain in signal path when the supply drops. Up to eight TAS2780 devices can share a common bus via I2S/TDM and I2C interfaces. The TAS2780 is available in a 30 pin HR-QFN package for a compact PCB footprint.

Audio | Audio line drivers | detail | DRV632 |
The DRV632 is a 2-VRMS pop-free stereo line driver designed to allow the removal of the output dc-blocking capacitors for reduced component count and cost. The device is ideal for single-supply electronics where size and cost are critical design parameters. Designed using TI’s patented DirectPath™ technology, The DRV632 is capable of driving 2 VRMS into a 10-kΩ load with 3.3-V supply voltage. The device has differential inputs and uses external gain-setting resistors to support a gain range of ±1 V/V to ±10 V/V, and gain can be configured individually for each channel. Line outputs have ±8-kV IEC ESD protection, requiring just a simple resistor-capacitor ESD protection circuit. The DRV632 has built-in active-mute control for pop-free audio on/off control. The DRV632 has an external undervoltage detector that mutes the output when the power supply is removed, ensuring a pop-free shutdown. Using the DRV632 in audio products can reduce component count considerably compared to traditional methods of generating a 2-VRMS output. The DRV632 does not require a power supply greater than 3.3 V to generate its 5.6-Vpp output, nor does it require a split-rail power supply. The DRV632 integrates its own charge pump to generate a negative supply rail that provides a clean, pop-free ground-biased 2-VRMS output. The DRV632 is available in a 14-pin TSSOP.

Audio | Audio interface ICs | detail | DIX4192-Q1 |
The DIX4192-Q1 device is a highly-integrated CMOS device designed for use in professional and broadcast digital audio systems. The DIX4192-Q1 combines a digital audio interface receiver (DIR) and transmitter (DIT), two audio serial ports, and flexible distribution logic for interconnection of the function block data and clocks. The DIR and DIT are compatible with the AES3, S/PDIF, IEC 60958, and EIAJ CP-1201 interface standards. The audio serial ports and DIT may be operated at sampling rates up to 216 kHz. The DIR lock range includes sampling rates from 20 kHz to 216 kHz. The DIX4192-Q1 device is configured using on-chip control registers and data buffers, which are accessed through either a four-wire serial peripheral interface (SPI) port, or a two-wire I2C bus interface. Status registers provide access to a variety of flag and error bits, which are derived from the various function blocks. An open-drain interrupt output pin is provided, and is supported by flexible interrupt reporting and mask options through control register settings. A master reset input pin is provided for initialization by a host processor or supervisory functions. The DIX4192-Q1 device requires a 1.8-V core logic supply, in addition to a 3.3-V supply for powering portions of the DIR, DIT, and line driver and receiver functions. A separate logic I/O supply supports operation from 1.65 V to 3.6 V, providing compatibility with low-voltage logic interfaces typically found on digital signal processors and programmable logic devices. The DIX4192-Q1 device is available in a lead-free, TQFP-48 package.

Audio | Audio switches | detail | TS5A22364-Q1 |
The TS5A22364-Q1 is a 2-channel single-pole double-throw (SPDT) analog switch designed to operate from 2.3 V to 5.5 V supply. The device features negative signal swing capability that allows signals below ground to pass through the switch without distortion. Additionally, the TS5A22364-Q1 includes an internal shunt switch, which automatically discharges any capacitance at the NC or NO terminals when they are unconnected to COM. This reduces the audible click-and-pop noise when switching between two sources. The break-before-make feature prevents signal distortion during the transfer of a signal from one path to another. Low On-state resistance, excellent channel-to-channel On-state resistance matching, and minimal total harmonic distortion (THD) performance are ideal for audio applications.
